San Rafael bank teller implicated in robbery

A teller who was working at a San Rafael bank when it was robbed last week was in cahoots with the alleged robber, police commented Tuesday.

Javier Corona-Leyva, nineteen of Petaluma, was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of embezzlement, theft, burglary, conspiracy, robbery and possession of stolen property. His bail was set at $75,000.

The bank robbery occurred Fri morning at the Westamerica branch on Mitchell Blvd. in northern San Rafael. The robber presented a demand note but did not display a weapon, and he eluded a police search after fleeing the bank with cash.
